Patterns for Custom Fabric Printing - Contact DesiCrafts

Here are some patterns for custom printing. So this is how it works:

1. Select your pattern from the given pictures.

2. Select the fabric - muslin | soft, light weight cotton | thick cotton | drill 

3. select the color

4. Contact us at desicraftshop[AT]gmail[dot]com for the quote along with the quantity that you want to get printed. Minimum quantity is 1 yard fabric. 

5. We can also commission printing work for you. Yes, even with the designs provided by you.

Hand carved wooden stamps - handmade by South African Artisans

These are hand carved wooden stamps from South Africa, we recently procured from one of our suppliers. 

We don't know when, but we plan to make some really serious organic fabric using these wooden stamps ;)

These are handmade by skilled South African artisans.

We use plain make lovely organic fabrics using these blocks or stamps. We will use White cotton, colored cotton, Ahimsa or Khadi fabric, organic cotton fabric, muslin fabric and pure silks for printing. The fabrics will be printed on pre-order basis only. Choose the color and pattern and write to us at info@desicraftshop.com to place an order.

Cotton Fabric screen printing - A tutorial by DesiCrafts

 

This video tutorial by DesiCrafts tells step-by-step process of screen printing a pure cotton Indian fabric (Muslin). The fabric that we have taken to screen print is unbleached muslin fabric, which is an organic cotton fabric. 

It’s a common misconception that one needs a costly setup for screen printing. With very little investment and almost no technical knowledge or complex apparatus, we will get you started on screen printing. We’ll make small paisley patterns in this session.

The materials needed for this are:

1. Cotton Fabric
2. Color (dye)
3. Color Binder
4. Color Fixer
5. Screen Pattern
6. Applicator

Except for Screen Pattern, you can get everything else in any Hardware store. Contact us if you need Screen Patterns.

Watch the video for detailed intructions. 

Treating the fabric: Once the printing is done, the fabric should be allowed to dry for 24 hours. Next day, the fabric should be washed in the washing machine on 'mild setting' or softly hand wash it. Dry flat in shade, iron before using it. The fabric is ready for use.
